Job summary

Henkels & McCoy West is seeking a skilled Welder for field-based work across Hawaii. You will perform welding on carbon and stainless materials, fabricate piping and structural components, and ensure work adheres to project specs and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial construction, can read welding procedures, and possess relevant qualifications. The role includes travel across the Hawaiian Islands and offers competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years welding in industrial, utility, pipeline, petrochemical or heavy construction environments.
• Ability to read construction drawings and welding procedures.
• Willingness to travel across the Hawaiian Islands as project needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Perform SMAW, GTAW (TIG), FCAW, and GMAW welding on projects.
• Read welding symbols, blueprints, isometric drawings, piping layouts, and fabrication drawings.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair piping systems and structural components.
• Carry out fit-up, tack welds, root, fill and cap passes in multiple positions.
• Ensure welding activities meet project specs, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Maintain and inspect welding equipment and tools; keep records up to date.
• Support hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, and commissioning as required.
• Collaborate with Foremen, QC, and Project Management teams.
• Maintain weld maps and testing records; follow safety procedures and JHAs.
