Job summary

Sentry is seeking an Underwriting Leader to build and manage a new book of business in Hawaii, ideally based on Oahu. You will lead the revenue and profitability for the Hawaii region, guiding strategy, pricing, and agent relationships to grow premium and market share.

Responsibilities include directing product positioning, developing a local business plan, meeting with agents, and overseeing a small underwriting team to ensure performance and growth. The role emphasizes partnership and results.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of underwriting experience in standard commercial lines P&C in Hawaii.
• Familiarity with Hawaii Commercial Lines market and agents on the islands.
• Experience building and managing a profitable commercial lines book via agency management.
• Strong knowledge of state insurance regulations.
• Ability to develop strategic plan for entry into new markets.
• Experience collaborating with product and pricing teams for new products.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a new book of business in Hawaii.

• Create and execute strategy to optimize premium growth and profitability.
