Job description

Oversees the transportation of goods using large vehicles. Operates in challenging weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and snow.

Hours: 6am-6pm Monday - Friday

Pay - $23 - $26 an hour

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator at our Grantville Quarry in Grantville, KS. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Essential Functions

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.

Preferred Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Bulldozers and excavator experience
