Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator at our Agency Quarry in Agency, MO. This role safely operates heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Hours are 6am-6pm Monday through Friday. This full-time position requires a valid driver's license and prior bulldozer or excavator experience. Expect 40+ hours per week with opportunity to contribute to efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety programs and Guardian Angel culture.
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear.
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Work in a team environment.
• Clean work areas.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Wear personal protective equipment properly.
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed.
• Ensure materials are loaded according to safety requirements.
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs.
• Perform duties with minimal supervision.

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator at our Agency Quarry in Agency, MO. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Essential Functions

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Bulldozers and excavator experience
• 1+ years related experience
• Valid US driver's license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials
