Job summary

ASCEND is seeking experienced instructors for a cross-disciplinary yoga program. The studio at ASCEND offers a full schedule of varied yoga classes and workshops led by experienced and dedicated teachers.

All instructors will be responsible for providing clients with a safe and exceptional class experience, fostering a supportive environment with clients and among the instructor team and across all departments of ASCEND, and marketing and growing their classes.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching yoga classes to diverse groups.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and safe alignment.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to design engaging, creative classes and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Create personal connections with each student and foster their yoga journey.
• Actively promote ASCEND yoga program to grow attendance.
• Teach a minimum of 1 class per week.
• Plan and execute at least 1 two-hour workshop per year.
• Support team and fill in as needed every other month.
• Prepare the classroom with props, music, and lighting.
• Maintain studio cleanliness before/after each class.
• Ensure client safety with precise sequencing and cues.
• Attend team meetings and local events when possible.
• Keep certifications up to date and relevant.
• Sequence classes to address student needs and abilities.
• Arrange substitute instructors when necessary.
• Aim to meet/exceed client, performance, and fiscal goals.
