The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is seeking a Hatchery Superintendent (Wildlife Conserv Technician Supervisor) for the Inland Fisheries Division. This role supervises production planning, propagation, rearing, transport, and distribution of fish, with responsibilities for permit compliance and reporting, at the Bobby N.

Setzer State Fish Hatchery in Pisgah Forest, NC. A valid NC driver’s license is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license within 90 days of hire.
• Associate Degree in wildlife or fisheries management or construction management plus five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certain state job postings allow qualification by an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervise hatchery staff and oversee production planning, propagation, rearing, transportation and distribution of fishes.
• Ensure permit compliance, reporting, and coordination with agencies and stakeholders.
• Operate and maintain hatchery facilities and equipment.
• Travel as required and maintain relationships with hatchery staff and the public.
