Job summary

Wildlife Resources/Reeds Creek Hatchery in West Virginia is seeking a Fish and Wildlife Technician 2 to support the hatching, growing, and distribution of fish. You will assist with spawning, grading, growth and health monitoring, and perform maintenance of hatchery facilities and equipment.

A CDL with tank endorsement may be required to transport fish. Ideal candidates have an Associate of Science in fish/wildlife management or related field, or a high school diploma with relevant experience,

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in fish or wildlife management, natural resources management, fish culture, agriculture or related field.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Spawn fish, grade, monitor growth, and health of hatchery-reared fish.
• Load fish into hauling tanks on trucks and transport fingerlings and catchable size fish.
• Release fish into specified waters and perform routine maintenance of hatchery buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Lead small groups on projects as required and maintain compliance with safety and licensing requirements.
