Job summary

Weyerhaeuser seeks a Harvest Manager to lead planning, coordinating, and overseeing safe and compliant harvesting and transportation activities in Thomasville, AL. You will work with Wood Flow, Marketing, Silviculture, Planning, and contractors to meet volume, market, safety, environmental, and cost objectives.

The role emphasizes contractor management, field oversight, data-driven decisions, and adherence to safety and environmental standards in a dynamic timberlands environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Relevant harvesting, forestry, operations, contractor, transportation, environmental, or related field experience.
• Commitment to a safe work environment and effective collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Fundamental negotiation skills and ability to interact with contractors and partners.
• Ability to understand conversion factors, quality specs, and supplier performance data.

Responsibilities

• Administer harvesting and transportation contracts and support onboarding, accountability, and performance.
• Verify harvest plans, monitor operations, and ensure timely system updates and handoffs.
• Promote safe work practices and contractor safety expectations, including safety plan execution and incident follow-up.
• Support environmental compliance, BMPs, and environmental incident response.
• Use data on cost, volume, quality, market, and suppliers to support harvesting decisions.
• Coordinate with Wood Flow, Marketing, Silviculture, Planning and contractors to manage production and transportation constraints.
