Job summary

This hands-on position requires physical stamina, adherence to safety and HACCP protocols, and the ability to read and communicate in English. Experience on harvest floors is preferred, but motivated helpers willing to learn will be considered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of harvest floor, slaughter, or meat processing experience preferred.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods, heavy lifting, and working in hot, cold, and damp conditions.
• Knife skills or willingness to develop them on the job.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Experience with beef primal and subprimal cuts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of the harvest process including stunning, bleeding, skinning, eviscerating, splitting, and trimming.
• Handle livestock humanely and in accordance with all animal welfare requirements.
• Trim, wash, and weigh carcasses to meet quality and compliance standards.
• Maintain knife sharpness and keep harvest floor equipment in proper working condition throughout the shift.
• Keep workstations, walls, equipment, and the harvest floor clean and sanitized at all times.
• Follow all HACCP protocols and food safety requirements without exception.
• Support barn duties including weighing, feeding, and watering livestock as skills develop.
• Assist with general sanitation and end-of-shift cleanup procedures.
