Job summary

Poarch Band of Creek Indians is seeking a PRM Harvest Position to support harvest-floor operations at Perdido River Meats. You will gain hands-on experience with live animals, operate knocking handgun and knives, and rotate through harvest-floor duties while adhering to safety, food safety, GMP, and USDA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a production facility preferred.
• Working knowledge of USDA regulations and plant procedures preferred.
• Must be able to operate knocking handgun, knife, meat hook, and other electrical tools.
• Ability to work odd and irregular hours.
• Must complete required criminal and character background check.
• Ability to travel and participate in required training and events.
• Ability to perform all duties of this position.

Responsibilities

• Work with live animals, unloading and moving them to pens while following animal handling procedures and USDA regulations.
• Operate a knocking handgun and other electrical tools as required.
• Use knives and meat hooks to remove hide, head, legs, and viscera per Food Safety guidelines.
• Safely use knives and tools required for harvest operations.
• Wear all required PPE.
• Learn and perform positions throughout harvest-floor rotation.
• Work in Harvest, Processing, Ground Beef, and Sausage areas as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area while complying with Safety, Food Safety, GMP, and USDA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
