Job summary

Pilgrim is seeking an Operations Manager in Grand Island, Nebraska to oversee daily production in the Slaughter Department. The role ensures safe, efficient, and quality‑driven output in compliance with food‑safety standards.

Strong leadership and communication with line personnel and plant management are essential. The ideal candidate will direct teams to meet production goals, resolve employee concerns, and collaborate with Quality Control to maintain product quality and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead a team in a high‑tempo production environment.
• Proven communication skills across all levels of the plant.
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Slaughter Office for order sheets and attendance at supervisor meetings.
• Direct employees to meet production volume, quality standards, cost targets, and delivery schedules.
• Address employee grievances, disputes, or concerns promptly; escalate unresolved issues.
• Participate actively in group and line meetings.
• Partner with Quality Control to ensure product quality and food‑safety compliance.
• Train, coach, and develop employees to build management depth and teamwork.
• Monitor machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure maintenance and sanitation.
• Maintain positive employee relations and ensure adherence to labor contract provisions.
• Communicate regularly with line personnel and plant management.
• All other duties as assigned.
