Job summary

JW Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa seeks a Harry Soffer Supervisor to assist in Members Room and In-Room Dining/Minibar operations. You will supervise associates, manage service levels, and ensure dining experiences meet luxury standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining menu knowledge, overseeing opening/closing procedures, coordinating staffing, inventory, and VIP amenities, and collaborating with departments to uphold JW Marriott standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in food and beverage in fine dining or luxury hotel.
• Professional demeanor suitable for a luxury environment.
• Strong restaurant operation background.
• Ability to listen, understand, and resolve guest concerns.
• Knowledge of POS systems (Micros) and basic food handling.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• English required; second language is a plus.
• Flexibility for holidays and weekends.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Education: HS diploma or GED or 2-year related degree.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Associates & tabletop presentation for meal service.
• Maintain menu knowledge for breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar and wine pairing.
• Oversee opening/closing procedures of shift and staffing levels.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, linen and other supplies.
• Assist in managing delivery of amenity packages and VIP gifts.
• Ensure maintenance and cleanliness and communicate expectations to departments.
• Monitor POS system accuracy and hotel reports; resolve guest issues.
• Participate in departmental meetings and uphold JW Marriott standards.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and staff development.

Scope of PositionThe Harry Soffer Supervisor will assist with the Members room and In-Room Dining/Minibar operations. Motivate, develop, and train.Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.EducationHigh school diploma or GED; 3-5 years’ experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.OR2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major;2 years’ experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.Knowledge of basic food handling policies and procedures as well as the techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques and sanitation standards.Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations.Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment machinery.Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.Physical agility and ability to move quickly in confined spaces.
