Job summary

Lunar Energy in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Technical Program Manager Intern for the Hardware Engineering team to help bring up testing, validation, and regulatory work from concept through production.

You will collaborate with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and external partners while learning how to align schedules, manage risks, and communicate clearly in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Industrial, or related engineering.
• You’re passionate about accelerating renewables and improving energy infrastructure.
• Prior internship, co‑op, or project experience in an engineering or technical environment is a plus.
• You communicate clearly, ask good questions, and follow up until things are resolved.
• You're comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy collaborating across teams in a fast-moving startup.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or Excel is a plus, but not required — we’ll teach you.
• This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities

• Support program schedules by tracking milestones, flagging risks, and communicating progress across teams.
• Help build and maintain validation roadmaps, timelines, and deliverable trackers and resource requirements.
• Sit in on test and certification reviews, capture action items, and drive closure with ownership.
• Coordinate ordering, shipment, and delivery of prototype validation builds and track variation effects.
• Pull together clear, executive-ready status updates summarizing risk and progress.
• Learn how program management drives a hardware product from concept through production.
