Job summary

Formlabs in Somerville, MA is seeking a Hardware Test Engineering Intern to run system, subsystem, and component validation tests on our 3D printers. You will collaborate with engineers to design test plans and implement automated testing equipment to drive reliability assessments.

Qualifications

• Experience with complex electromechanical systems and reliability testing.
• Ability to develop full system test plans and execute them in fast-paced product development timelines.
• Experience testing sensors, actuators, and mechanical components.
• Ability to prototype and run tests from experimental setup to hardware/software implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and manage validation test plans for system, subsystem, and component levels.
• Perform root cause analysis to triage failures using physics of failure approaches.
• Design, build, and implement automated testing equipment for subsystem characterization and reliability testing.
• Collaborate with design teams to perform risk assessments and support design reviews.
