Job summary

Parallel Systems is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer II to validate the performance of autonomous rail vehicles and subsystems. You’ll work with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to derive test requirements and build the test infrastructure at our Los Angeles, on-site facility.

This role emphasizes hands-on testing with power supplies, DAQs, DMMs, and oscilloscopes, plus Python/C/C++ scripting.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 3+ years of hardware development or electronics test engineering experience.
• Experience with test equipment such as power supplies, DAQs, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
• Proficient in interpreting electronics schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with software development in Python, C, C++, Rust or similar language.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain test solutions for in-house developed electronics components and systems
• Build and maintain test benches used for development and software regression testing
• Define and develop test cases using Python
• Produce documentation for testing including test plans, work instructions, design drawings, and test reports
• Support testing and data analysis to identify and root-cause issues
• Test vehicles at Parallel test facilities and customer sites
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth
