About the role

We're looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to join our Compute Hardware team. You’ll help validate our automotive-grade PCB designs by performing board-level testing, automating lab workflows, and supporting early prototype hardware characterization. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hands-on validation, strong lab skills, and experience with automotive OEM testing protocols.

  • Motivation: A lot of learning opportunities since we design and test next generation boards/hardware solutions for future Porsche car lines and other customers using the latest processors from leading semiconductor companies - we’re architecting the first generation closely with Porsche teams with high impact and visibility.
  • Ownership: We’re a small and nimble hardware team with a pretty large scope so every EE will own a significant project and also have the opportunity to learn and contribute to other projects in our team.
  • Technical areas: We build infotainment, adas, and controller units for software-defined vehicles. A technical step to enable an industry-wide transition.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
  • Execute and improve validation test plans for custom automotive PCBs
  • Characterize board performance using lab equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, electronic loads, DAQ, etc.)
  • Automate lab equipment and test routines using Python or similar scripting languages
  • Analyze and document results in clear, concise reports for internal teams and external customers
  • Collaborate with electrical design, system integration, and software teams to support board bring-up and root cause analysis
  • Interpret and follow OEM test protocols (e.g., LV124, ISO 16750, CISPR, etc.)
  • Maintain lab setups and improve test efficiency with reusable infrastructure
We're looking for someone who has:
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 1–6 years of hands-on experience in board-level testing and validation
  • Experience working in a lab setting with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power meters, etc.)
  • Experience with test automation (Python, LabView, or similar)
  • Familiarity with automotive or consumer electronics validation flows
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Prior exposure to automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier test protocols
  • Experience reading schematics and debugging at component level

Nice to have:

  • Experience working at automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or robotics/consumer electronics companies
  • Familiarity with CAN, LIN, or automotive Ethernet tools
  • Prior experience with PCB DFM/DFT feedback and layout review
