Job summary

Discovered MENA is seeking a Hardware Tech Lead to own a wearable device from spec to mass production. You will define architecture across cameras, IMUs, power, and thermal systems and manage hardware-level time synchronization for real-world data capture.

You will work with ODMs/CMs in Asia, drive EVT/DVT/PVT to volume production, review schematics and PCB bring-up, and build a hardware lab while pursuing patentable IP. Deep hands-on hardware experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in hardware with at least one device taken from concept to mass production.
• Experience managing ODMs or contract manufacturers in Asia, incl. NRE, factory audits and yield.
• Knows camera systems: sensors, MIPI CSI-2, ISP pipelines, shutter/exposure sync.
• Writes embedded C/C++ on MCUs/SoCs, on RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Understands wearable constraints: battery, power budget, heat on head.
• Ideally speaks Mandarin due to manufacturing partnerships.

Responsibilities

• System architecture and requirements across cameras, sensors, power, and thermal management.
• Hardware-level time synchronization so streams align at capture.
• ODM selection and EVT/DVT/PVT path to volume production.
• Schematic review, PCB verification, embedded firmware, and board bring-up.
• Set up the hardware lab and identify IP worth patenting.
• Hands-on debugging with a scope and logic analyzer; ensure factory-to-spec compliance.
