Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA, seeks an experienced hardware engineer to design, prototype, and validate system electrical designs for Apple Watch. You will perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up while collaborating with mechanical and software teams to ensure performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include debugging, failure analysis, and factory ramp support. Strong experience with Cadence tools and standard EE test equipment is required. Relocation may be offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 3 years of experience.
• 2 years of experience with Cadence tools for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience with common EE test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, DMM, power analyzers.
• Bringing up and debugging new hardware designs.
• Integrating electrical designs into hardware systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Designing and guiding schematic capture and PCB layout of hardware systems.
• Performing hardware failure analysis and corrective actions with suppliers.
• Collaborating with mechanical, software/firmware teams to validate performance.
• Utilizing GPIO, I2C, and SPI communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, build, and validate electrical designs throughout the product cycle.
• Work with Apple teams to integrate designs into Apple Watch hardware.
• Perform system electrical design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
• Provide factory build support from NP I through ramp.
• Report on hardware issues to management and cross-functional forums.
