Job summary

Apple Inc. in Austin, Texas is seeking a hardware engineer to lead prototype bring-up, debugging and electrical characterization of PCBA systems.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to resolve development challenges and implement component-level PCB reworks for mass production. The role focuses on designing for EMI, signal integrity, and reliability, with hands-on SMT rework, automated PCBA processes, and data-driven quality tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 4 years' experience.
• Experience defining and implementing component-level PCB reworks for consumer electronics.
• Experience designing PCB layouts for rigid, flex and rigid-flex with material selection and stack-up planning.
• Hands-on SMT rework including BGA and fine pitch soldering.
• Experience automating PCBA and system-level processes to improve rework and yields.
• Design for EMI, signal integrity and noise reduction.
• DFM/Design for reliability and manufacturing experience.
• Experience tracking issues, reporting trends, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and electrical characterization.
• Manage engineering builds by partnering with cross-functional teams to solve development challenges.
• Define, recommend, and implement component level reworks in partnership with internal teams.
• Develop and implement automated PCBA and system level processes to increase yields and throughput.
• Support system and board level debug, reworking, assembly and reworks on prototype hardware.
• Track, report, and identify quality issues and failure trends.
• Work closely with technicians and engineers to ensure the prompt completion of work.
• 40 hours/week.
