Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer focused on hardware to join our team in the United States. You will specialize in firmware analysis, hardware specifications, vendor relations, and failure analysis to keep our data center operations reliable.

You will diagnose and prove complex hardware failures, handle RMA processes with vendors, and work with operations technicians to resolve issues in real time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of hardware reliability engineering experience in data center or HPC environments.
• Proven firmware analysis and hardware specification review skills.
• Experience with RMA processes and vendor negotiations.
• Ability to diagnose grey or intermittent hardware failures via tests and data.
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation; knowledge of C/C++, Java, or Rust is a plus.
• Strong problem solving and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze firmware packages and hardware specs for compatibility, performance, and reliability in the data center.
• Run security scanning and CVE analysis on firmware and components; flag safety issues.
• Investigate hardware failures, including grey failures, with rigorous testing and data.
• Manage vendor relationships and RMA processes; push for timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with Data Center Operations Technicians to troubleshoot and optimize hardware systems.
• Develop monitoring tools and scripts to detect hardware anomalies early.
• Document failure modes, RCAs, AFR models, and RMAs in a team knowledge base.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for hardware issues in the Memphis data center.
