Job summary

Motive is seeking a Security Engineer, Hardware Security to partner with Engineering and Hardware teams on secure-by-default components and processes across Motive devices. You will influence security across the hardware design, firmware, and cloud-connected environments, focusing on scalable security programs and automation.

This strategic role emphasizes design, automation, and enablement to scale security across IoT and enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years years of experience in Hardware Security with security-by-design patterns.
• 5+ years collaborating with product teams on security designs and requirements.
• 5+ years hands-on development in Python and C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of hardware root of trust, secure boot, attestation and device provisioning.
• Experience in cloud, runtime, supply chain and application security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build hardware security baseline and processes across Motive devices (boot chain, firmware, FOTA, manufacturing).
• Lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and testing for product systems.
• Define and review security requirements for hardware platforms, embedded systems, firmware interfaces, and device lifecycle controls.
• Drive end-to-end security for device hardware across IoT and cloud security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to prioritize, validate, and remediate findings.
• Identify and assess hardware security risks across the product lifecycle (design, manufacturing, deployment, updating, decommissioning).
