Job summary

Crown Ace Hardware in Jurupa Valley, CA, is seeking a Sales/Yard Associate to deliver friendly, hands-on customer service and assist with front- and back-room operations. You will handle shipments, merchandise displays, and loading duties for customers’ vehicles, indoors and outdoors, with safety and accuracy in mind.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift 90+ pounds, and a willingness to obtain forklift certification. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is appreciated.

Qualifications

• Education/Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent or currently in school.
• Knowledge of DIY projects, electrical, plumbing, tools, paint and hardware is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide world class service to customers and assist with promotions information.
• Execute daily store operational goals and priorities.
• Increase product knowledge and explain uses to customers.
• Participate in processing new shipments and keep receiving/back room clean and organized.
• Load merchandise ranging from lumber to cement into customers' vehicles.
• Merchandise products and maintain assigned areas.

• Minimum Requirements: Must be 19years old to operate Fork Lift
• License and Certificates: Must possess a current valid California Driver's License. Upon hire must be willing to obtain and maintain forklift certification (where applicable.)
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 90+ pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders, Yard Associates working in the Lumber or Nursery departments will need to have the ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff and customers a normal in-person and phone conversation. Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel. Ascend and descend ladder. Ability to work at heights. Experienced in forklift, skip-loader and power saw use.

Education/Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent or currently in school.

Skills/Knowledge: Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business. Knowledge of DIY projects, electrical. plumbing, tools , paint and hardware a plus.
