Job summary

Base is hiring a Reliability Test Engineer to push the limits of our hardware before field deployment. You will design and build test setups, automate them, and run electrical, mechanical, environmental, and reliability campaigns.

You will lead root-cause analysis, automate data processing across large datasets, and write concise reports that drive design decisions across engineering. This role thrives in a hands-on, startup environment with rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years hands-on test engineering on electromechanical products with embedded firmware.
• Experience with DAQ systems, sensors, signal conditioning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python and/or LabVIEW for instrument control and data analysis.
• Track record of defining real mechanical, electrical, and reliability limits.
• Strong documentation and data storytelling in reports.

Responsibilities

• Run validation across electrical, mechanical, environmental, and reliability testing.
• Build test setups: design fixtures and PCBAs, pick sensors and supplies, and automate test equipment, environmental chambers, and DAQ systems.
• Lead root cause and failure analysis on issues found in test.
• Automate analysis and anomaly detection across large test datasets.
• Write sharp, high-signal reports that drive design decisions across engineering.
