Job summary

Base is hiring a Reliability Test Engineer to push the hardware limits of our distributed battery systems. You will design fixtures, automate tests, and run electrical, mechanical, and environmental campaigns to inform design decisions.

You’ll partner with electrical and software engineers, document results clearly, and develop reports that drive improvements. This startup values speed, hands-on work, and a bias for data-driven decisions in a growing, in-person team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on test engineering on electromechanical products with embedded firmware.
• Experience with DAQ systems, sensors, signal conditioning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python and/or LabVIEW for instrument control and data analysis.
• A proven track record of tests that define real mechanical, electrical, and reliability limits.
• Strong documentation with clear, data-driven reports.

Responsibilities

• Run validation across electrical, mechanical, environmental, and reliability testing.
• Build test setups, fixtures, sensors, and automate test equipment and environmental chambers.
• Lead root cause and failure analysis on test issues.
• Automate analysis and anomaly detection on large test datasets.
• Write sharp reports that drive design decisions.
