Job summary

Anthropic seeks a hands‑on hardware lab manager to own and scale our Bay Area labs, from crate to SSH access. You’ll manage provisioning, power, cooling, cabling, and asset lifecycle, collaborating with partner teams to anticipate needs and expand facilities as Anthropic grows.

You’ll work with lab hardware, server platforms, and security‑header instrumentation, while coordinating with electricians, vendors, and contractors to keep labs ready for product development.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience running a hardware, systems, or datacenter lab, or a similar physical compute environment.
• Working knowledge of server hardware and its management plane: BMC/IPMI/Redfish, BIOS/UEFI configuration.
• Enough Linux and networking to take a bare machine to a usable state.

Responsibilities

• Run the physical lab across sites: receiving, staging, rack and stack, cabling, power distribution, cooling, layout.
• Bring up new server/accelerator platforms from crate to SSH: firmware, BIOS/UEFI, out‑of‑band management, OS install, network provisioning.
• Own hardware procurement for the lab: coordinate with teams, quotes, lead times, inventory.
• Own RMA processes end‑to‑end for lab hardware: triage, swap, ship, track, and escalate with vendors.
