Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a hands-on hardware lab manager to own the SF Bay Area labs end-to-end. You'll oversee receiving, powering, cooling, cabling, and tracking lab hardware, ensuring readiness for diverse AI workloads and security needs.

You'll collaborate with partner teams, shape the lab as it scales, and supervise on-site staff and vendors. Strong lab operations experience is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience running a hardware lab or datacenter lab.
• Knowledge of server hardware management and BIOS/UEFI basics.
• Familiar with Linux networking and basic configurations.
• Experience managing vendors, quotes, and equipment.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Run the lab across sites: receiving, staging, rack-and-stack, cabling.
• Bring up new platforms from crate to SSH-ready state.
• Own hardware procurement and inventory management.
• Manage end-to-end RMA processes for lab hardware.
• Build and maintain lab setups and debug harnesses.
• Coordinate smarthands and on-site contractor work.
• Maintain asset auditing and lifecycle tracking.
