Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a motivated Hardware Engineer to join our San Jose team. You will participate in the design and development of enterprise server motherboards and GPU platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle.

The role includes hardware design, system validation, debugging, customer support, and production support, with domestic and international travel as needed to support customer issues and new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 1–2 years of hardware design or related development experience.
• Familiarity with PCB layout review and hardware debugging.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform board- and system-level debugging and identify root causes.
• Design and develop enterprise server motherboards and add-on cards; schematic capture, BOMs, validation.
• Review PCB layouts with layout engineers for quality and manufacturability.
• Prepare engineering docs: specs, BOMs, validation reports, procedures, and debugging guides.
• Conduct DVT, system validation, and qualification testing to meet specs.
• Support production troubleshooting and field issue investigations.
