Job summary

APCON is seeking a Hardware Engineer II to design and develop digital hardware for network visibility and switching products. The role focuses on board-level electronics, including embedded processors, switch ASICs, and high-speed memory subsystems, with Linux-based embedded platforms.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in Electrical Engineering and 3–6 years of hardware design experience, plus strong signal integrity and PCB layout skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 3–6 years of digital hardware design experience
• Experience with embedded processors or switch ASICs
• Strong understanding of high-speed digital design principles
• Ability to read schematics and guide PCB layout

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital hardware circuits integrating embedded processors, switch ASICs, and DDR4/DDR5 memory
• Create schematics and guide PCB layout with signal integrity and power integrity focus
• Implement and validate SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO and other digital interfaces
• Perform board bring-up, hardware and board debugging
• Collaborate with software, FPGA, and manufacturing teams to ensure hardware/software integration
• Support sustaining engineering and hardware improvements across product lifecycles
