Intel in Hillsboro, Oregon seeks a CAD/EDA Tools Automation Engineer to design, develop, test, and debug automation software for design workflows. You will collaborate with hardware, process, and manufacturing teams to enhance productivity across the hardware design lifecycle.

The role emphasizes building scalable automation solutions, executing unit and integration tests, and contributing to tool infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in a STEM field
• 6+ months of experience in Python, Tcl, or C++
• Experience on Linux environments, version management systems, and EDA tools

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug software tools, flows, and methodologies used in design automation environments.
• Capture user stories and requirements from internal stakeholders and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
• Write functional and test code to ensure high-quality, maintainable software deliverables.
• Automate build and deployment pipelines to streamline tool delivery and updates.
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of software tools to validate functionality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation frameworks to support physical design, place and route, and DRC verification workflows.
• Collaborate with hardware design, process design, and manufacturing teams to identify automation opportunities and improve design methodologies.
• Support the administration, deployment, and maintenance of CAD software and EDA tool infrastructure.
• Develop job management tools on distributed computing systems to optimize resource utilization and workflow efficiency.
• Standardize and document processes through workflows, templates, and reusable automation components.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development best practices.
