Job summary

TEKsystems in Evanston, IL is seeking a Deployment Technician to support endpoint deployment, imaging, asset management and end-user technology rollouts. You will prepare, configure, deploy and support desktop and laptop devices to ensure a seamless user experience.

The ideal candidate has hands-on imaging experience, strong Windows OS knowledge, and asset-tracking skills within a corporate environment, with familiarity in SCCM, Intune and Windows Autopilot.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in desktop support, field services, endpoint deployment, or related IT role.
  • Hands-on imaging with SCCM, Intune or Windows Autopilot.
  • Strong Windows OS knowledge and enterprise applications.
  • Experience with asset management and inventory tracking.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deployment tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, image, deploy, and refresh desktop and laptop hardware.
  • Utilize deployment tools such as SCCM, Intune, and Windows Autopilot to provision devices.
  • Perform device migrations and hardware refresh projects.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS and enterprise applications.
  • Track assets in asset management systems and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Document device deployments and project updates in ServiceNow or similar systems.
  • Provide end-user support during deployments, including setup and data migration.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
  • Maintain deployment schedules and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and endpoint standards.
  • Support large-scale rollouts, office moves, and lifecycle initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation of deployment processes and procedures.

Job description

Position Overview We are seeking a Deployment Technician to support enterprise-wide endpoint deployment, imaging, asset management, and end-user technology rollouts. This individual will play a key role in preparing, configuring, deploying, and supporting desktop and laptop devices while ensuring a seamless experience for end users. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with device imaging technologies, Windows operating systems, and asset tracking processes in a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, image, deploy, and refresh desktop and laptop hardware in accordance with company standards.
  • Utilize deployment tools such as SCCM, Microsoft Intune, and Windows Autopilot to provision and manage endpoint devices.
  • Perform device migrations, workstation replacements, and hardware refresh projects.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and standard enterprise applications.
  • Track and manage IT assets through asset management systems, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Document device deployments, asset assignments, and project updates within ServiceNow or other IT service management platforms.
  • Provide end-user support during deployments, including setup, data migration, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues related to deployed devices.
  • Maintain deployment schedules and coordinate with business stakeholders to minimize user disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and endpoint standards.
  • Support large-scale technology rollouts, office moves, and equipment lifecycle initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of deployment processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in desktop support, field services, endpoint deployment, or a related IT support role.
  • Hands-on experience with device imaging and deployment tools such as SCCM, Microsoft Intune, and/or Windows Autopilot.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and common enterprise applications.
  • Experience working with asset management and inventory tracking systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and related hardware.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deployment tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using ServiceNow for asset management and ticket tracking.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and endpoint management best practices.
  • Experience supporting large-scale hardware refresh or migration projects.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience working in enterprise or corporate IT environments.
Experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting endpoint deployment, desktop support, or field services.
  • Proven experience with device provisioning, asset management, and end-user support during technology rollouts.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Evanston, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
