Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an Associate Motion Engineer (Testing) to join a 24+ month project in Mequon, WI onsite. The role focuses on testing control systems, software, and hardware integration.

Candidates should have 1+ year experience in electrical control systems or motion, programming in Python or Ladder Logix, and a strong engineering mindset. Onsite work and collaboration with the development team are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine system testing with existing test collateral and documents results.
• Rewrite legacy software using Python.
• Work onsite with development to characterize issues.
• Develops new test collateral for control system applications.
• Evaluates solutions with SME input to guide decisions during product development.
• Establishes timelines and tracks progress to meet deadlines.
• Utilizes test tools to ensure full system test coverage.

Job Description:

Position: Associate Motion Engineer (Testing)

Location: Mequon, WI (Onsite)

24+ month project

Required Skills:

• 1+ year of experience with electrical control systems, programming and/or motion is needed
• Strong programming skills using either Python or Ladder Logix
• Engineering mindset to test both hardware and software
• Able to apply knowledge of test methodologies
• Motion or Robotics Experience
• Exposure to AI Fundamentals.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs routine system testing utilizing existing test collateral and test cases. Responsible for reporting any issues identified and documenting test results for follow-up.
• Ability to rewrite old software using Python
• Able to work onsite
• Responsible for working with the development team to characterize any issues found.
• Develops new test collateral – mostly control system applications - and test cases in response to new product or system requirements
• Evaluates and researches possible solutions by seeking input from subject matter experts to ensure fact-based recommendations and decisions are being made during all phases of product development.
• Establishes a timeline for assigned tasks/projects and is able to track and report progress as well as meet deadlines.
• Able to utilize test tools and methods to ensure full system test coverage is attained.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Chemical Engineering) or Equivalent Engineering Degree

Desired Skills:

• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in Automation Applications Engineering work, Technical Support, System Integration or Field Service work
• Proven software skills in scripting (preferable Python, SQL, VB)
• Familiarity with Webservice and Apis is a plus
• A concentration in software/firmware or equivalent knowledge in the areas of software/firmware engineering (software requirements analysis, software design, software testing) is desired
• Familiarity with Wireshark, JIRA, and iTRAK etc. is a plus
