Job summary

Goodwill Houston is hiring a Hard Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort through hardline donations, price items per GWH guidelines, and process donations. You will help ensure efficient, cost-effective operations and maximize profitability to support our mission.

Responsibilities include researching merchandise value, keeping up with pricing trends, rotating stock, greeting customers, loading/unloading merchandise, and assisting with donations per guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Research merchandise value using current GWH baseline pricing guides or internet pricing.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, merchandising, and competitive pricing.
• Work quickly to meet GWH production standards.
• Ensure product is continually rotated.
• Greet customers and assist with basic questions about store operations and merchandise.
• Assist with keeping production supplies available.
• Assist in merchandising produced goods on the sales floor per guidelines.
• Assist with loading and unloading merchandise as needed.
• Receive and record donations as needed.
• Sort donations according to GWH guidelines as assigned.
• Notify the manager of low or overstocked merchandise.
• Assist with security and safety of team members and property.
• Assist in floor recovery as needed.
• Perform necessary janitorial work.
