Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Houston is seeking a Hard Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort hard goods donations, price items, and prepare them for the sales floor, helping maximize profitability and support the mission.

You will research values using pricing guides and online platforms, maintain a clean workstation, assist with unloading donations, and uphold safety and PPE guidelines while delivering friendly, helpful service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with diverse personalities and styles.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sort and grade hard goods donations according to guidelines to maximize production.
• Research merchandise value using pricing guides, Google Lens, eBay and other resell platforms.
• Identify items for eCommerce and route to the manager on duty for processing.
• Maintain PPE and a clean, organized workstation before, during, and after shifts.
• Assist with unloading donations and using the donation tablet; help donors as needed.
• Assist with loading/unloading equipment and perform janitorial duties.
• Report work incidents and injuries immediately.
