Job description

As a Harbor Operations Specialist, you will be front-line operational staff for Port properties for commercial fishing, commercial, and recreational vessel facilities. You will serve as key operations staff with responsibilities of providing services both waterside on docks and within upland facilities. You will also manage day-to-day operations of maritime business and ensure all activities are followed according to set expectations, Port policies, and procedures for safety, environmental, and efficiency.

• You will provide customer service by providing standard operational information to current and prospective customers and the public.
• You will establish and maintain positive interactions with customers to address their concerns, answer their questions, and assist with their needs. You will also handle customer requests or issues and provide appropriate solutions within appropriate time limits to ensure high level of customer service.
• You will provide property security by patrolling through buildings, upland gated fence storage yards, and ensuring that all areas are locked and secured for facility and public safety. You will also provide parking enforcement and dock compliance ensuring proper policies and procedures.
• You will collaborate with other Harbor Operations Specialists, Contracted Security, Portfolio Manager, and Maintenance Personnel to meet customer needs. You will exchange information and provide daily updates to bring awareness to routine events, scheduled special events, and activities which may impact the facility operations. You will also provide updates and revised post orders to on-coming duty Harbor Specialist at shift turnover.
• You will perform roving security patrols by driving between multiple maritime customer locations across port and waterfront properties. You must be able to drive to respond quickly to emergencies and incidents.
• You will respond to alarms, service requests, and security issues using a vehicle to ensure safety and operational efficiency. You will also serve as a First Responder by operating a skiff during emergencies, deploying oil boom equipment, and executing spill containment and reporting procedures in compliance with safety and regulatory policies.

• Experienced – You have one (1) year of experience in facilities, maintenance or security operations.
