Position Opening: Host

Job Summary: Provide friendly and responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all guests by welcoming and warmly greeting them upon arrival. Manage efficient seating and waitlist when applicable. Represent the front‑line staff with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with energetic and positive attitude.
• Create and maintain waitlist if necessary.
• Use OpenTable effectively.
• Provide guests with menus and answer initial questions.
• Seat guests at tables or in designated waiting areas.
• Assign guests to preferred tables while managing table rotation.
• Respond to complaints, resolve them, or involve a manager.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and answer general inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of food and beverage menu.
• Acknowledge guests as they leave.
• Maintain company culture.

Other Functions

• Fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant.
• Comply with health and food safety standards.
• Restock floor and bathrooms as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness at the host stand, including counters, menus, computer, shelves, and storage areas.

Physical Functions

• Stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed.
• Exert frequent, well‑paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
• Frequently reach, bend, stoop, carry, manipulate, and key in data.
• Work in warm and cool environments.
• High noise levels from music, customer, and employee traffic.
• Tolerate potential allergens: peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish.

Qualifications / Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Provide top‑notch customer service in fast‑paced environment.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with staff.
• Perform high‑quality work while unsupervised.
• Work in standing position for long periods.
• Lift and maneuver trays of food safely.
• Follow instructions and ask questions if needed.
• Handle money accurately and operate POS system.
• Work in busy restaurant environment.
• Restaurant experience a plus.

Compensation Details

Compensation: $19.29 - $24.00 hourly (based on experience).
