Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. in New York City seeks a Handyperson to join the on-site maintenance team for POP Management. You will perform routine repairs, cleaning, and prep of vacant units to ensure safe, affordable housing for tenants.

You will work with the Superintendent and maintenance staff to meet safety standards and assist with special projects. Responsibilities include documentation of work, coordination with vendors, snow removal, and occasionally front desk

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with cleaning and repair equipment.
• Basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing knowledge.
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness required within 6 months.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Russian).

Responsabilités

• Work with Superintendent to maintain property.
• Perform routine repairs and document on Service Request Order.
• Coordinate with vendors and inspect mechanical systems.
• Carry out cleaning tasks and trash removal per guidelines.
• Prepare vacant units for timely rental and assist with snow removal.
• Monitor inventory and ensure safe use of supplies.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings; cover front desk as needed.
• Provide back‑up coverage to POP managed facilities.
