Job summary

Purchase District Health Department is seeking a qualified supervisor for the Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) program. You will oversee daily administration and program staff, provide early childhood education and referrals to health services, and prepare program reports and budgets.

You will coordinate services with other agencies, ensure compliance with policy, and help guide program outcomes while traveling to community settings as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Nursing (see special requirements).
• Experience: Three years of professional experience in public or community health agency or similar capacity.
• Substitution: Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of experience; Associate Degree plus experience can substitute education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions on personnel policy matters affecting assigned staff, including performance monitoring/evaluation.
• Participate in local selection, hiring and orientation processes for new employees.
• Attend training conferences and conduct meetings/trainings for staff to improve performance.
• Provide professional program expertise to service providers and staff; assist with resolving billing problems, determining family eligibility and benefits or referrals.
• Prepare and review detailed statistical data and clinical management program reports; conduct quality assurance audits.
• Coordinate program services with internal and external entities to ensure providers understand guidelines and goals.
