Job summary

Central Moloney (CMI) in Panama City, FL is seeking a Welding/Metal Fabrication Team Lead to guide a team of welders and fabricators on the production floor. You’ll drive daily goals while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency standards that CMI is known for.

This is a hands-on leadership role: monitor welds, read blueprints, coach on technique, and coordinate with the Production Supervisor to plan workflow and staffing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; welding certification AWS a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods on the production floor.
• Overtime availability as production demands require.
• 2 years of welding/metal fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily welding and metal fabrication operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Monitor weld quality and fabrication output to ensure compliance with standards, blueprints, and specifications.
• Train and onboard new welders and fabricators, sharing best practices and reinforcing proper technique.
• Provide real-time performance feedback to team members on the shop floor.
• Identify and communicate production bottlenecks, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the Production Supervisor.
• Enforce safety protocols for welding and metal fabrication, including PPE compliance.
• Maintain accurate production records, including output tracking and shift reports.
• Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to support workflow planning and staffing adjustments.
• Motivate team members to meet daily targets and foster continuous improvement.
• Assume additional duties as assigned.
