Job summary

GHD is seeking a hands-on operations leader to run a 24/7 water treatment facility in Questa, NM. You’ll manage the operations and compliance teams, drive commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and treat the plant like a project with a schedule and budget.

You’ll lead and mentor a capable team, coordinate with client and project leadership, ensure regulatory discharge compliance, and keep the site running safely and efficiently on two shifts.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years in water/wastewater operations.
• Strong knowledge of chemical water treatment processes.
• Experience leading people and projects; manage P&L-style ops.
• Commissioning experience on treatment facilities.
• OSHA 30 or similar safety certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the plant's operations team across 24/7, two-shift coverage.
• Oversee the compliance team and ensure regulatory discharge requirements are met.
• Run the operation like a project — schedule, budget, resourcing, and performance.
• Lead commissioning activities and troubleshoot process/equipment issues.
• Own day-to-day performance of chemical treatment processes (coagulation, lime softening, etc.).
• Build and mentor a strong, accountable team culture and partner with project leadership.
