Job summary

United Veterinary Care is hosting veterinary externships across our network of over 100 hospital locations. This clinical experience lets you apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hospital setting of your choice, while being supervised by experienced veterinarians.

Externships are designed for AVMA-accredited schools, typically clinical-year students. You'll participate in case discussions, hands-on patient care in GP, ER, and specialty settings, with stipends available to offset travel and

• Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
• Priority scheduling for clinical years on externship blocks for school credit
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance; SAVMA members qualify for no-cost insurance via AVMA PLIT link

Responsibilities

• Participate in case discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and hands-on patient care in GP, ER, and specialty settings
• You will be supervised by experienced veterinarians and support staff throughout your externship
• Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian to confirm exam findings and learn as a team
