Job summary

Talis Group is seeking a hands-on Manager of Technical Operations to lead Engineering, Maintenance and Facilities on the shop floor in Louisville. You will drive capital projects, improve equipment reliability, and build a high-performance team focused on safety, quality and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of manufacturing leadership, a background in metal fabrication, and a strong track record of delivering process improvements and capital investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience; metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, CNC equipment, automation, maintenance, and facilities.
• Proven success leading capital projects and equipment improvements.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to develop technical teams.
• Hands-on leadership style with time on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering and Maintenance teams, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Lead capital projects including equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and facility improvements.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Drive manufacturing engineering initiatives involving process improvements, tooling, fixtures, automation, and equipment.
• Partner with Production and Operations to solve technical challenges and improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Develop long-term equipment, facility, and asset management strategies to support company growth.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and technical service providers.
• Develop a strong MRO process to ensure the shop has the parts, tooling, and supplies needed to operate efficiently.
• Identify, develop, and grow technical talent while building the capabilities needed for the company's future.
