Job summary
Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern to help establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while contributing to project success.
The internship offers exposure to design documentation, basic calculations, drafting, and cross-disciplinary coordination, with growth opportunities in structural engineering. Must be pursuing an ABET-accredited degree in structural/Civil/Architectural engineering.
Qualifications
- Pursuing ABET-accredited Structural/Civil/Architectural Eng degree.
- GPA above 3.0 preferred; strong fundamentals in structural analysis.
- Completed structural analysis and materials courses; basic design knowledge.
- Familiar with engineering software and drafting tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop familiarity with KIWE design standards and codes.
- Prepare basic calculations and sketches for final plans.
- Estimate quantities and costs from data.
- Assist in checking calculations and drawings.
- Coordinate with disciplines to resolve design interfacing issues.
- May inspect sites to verify conformance with drawings.
