Job summary

Voyant Photonics, based in NYC, seeks a Silicon Photonics Control & Calibration Engineer to own drive electronics, calibration, and firmware validation for OCS devices. You will design control algorithms, build test benches, and collaborate with photonics, electronics, and firmware teams to deliver validated hardware.

The role emphasizes on-site work in Midtown Manhattan with a fast-paced, hands-on team culture and opportunities to impact AI data centers and robotics.

Qualifications

• MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or related field.
• BS with equivalent experience (PhD a plus) is a plus.
• Strong fundamentals in control, estimation, and data-driven methods.
• Experience with photonics or precision physical systems is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Characterize control behavior of photonic devices and drivers.
• Design calibration routines and closed-loop control algorithms.
• Derive driver electronics requirements from device physics and control needs.
• Validate firmware against Python reference implementations.
