Job summary

Glenn Rieder, LLC is seeking a Fabrication & Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations on the shop floor, directing Fabrication and Sheet Metal teams to meet safety, quality, and on-time delivery goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, coaching and evaluating staff, reviewing drawings and production priorities, and coordinating with Engineering, Project Management and Purchasing to maintain an efficient, error-free workflow.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in architectural metal fabrication or related environment.
• 2–3 years of direct supervisory experience in manufacturing or production.
• Ability to supervise hourly employees, coach performance, and address issues.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication and sheet metal processes, equipment, tooling, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details.
• Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Fabrication and Sheet Metal employees, providing daily direction and expectations.
• Maintain a visible shop-floor presence and enforce safety, quality, attendance, and schedule performance.
• Plan and assign daily work based on production schedules, workload, and priorities.
• Review drawings, job requirements, materials, and production priorities for readiness.
• Monitor progress and address labor, material, equipment, quality, or workflow issues.
• Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, tolerances, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Promote first-time-right quality and reduce defects, scrap, rework, and waste.
• Coach, train, develop, and evaluate employees with timely feedback.
• Participate in interviewing, onboarding, training, and HR-related decisions.
• Lead daily production huddles and communicate priorities and safety concerns.
