Job summary

Shamrock-Metals in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Fabrication & Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead the Fabrication and Sheet Metal departments on the shop floor, directing coworkers, monitoring production, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

The supervisor must possess strong technical knowledge of architectural metal fabrication and sheet metal operations; however, the primary responsibility is leading people and production, with daily huddles, cross-department

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in architectural metal fabrication or sheet metal environments.
• 2-3 years of direct supervisory or people-management experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/shop drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment, tooling, and materials.
• Preference for Lean manufacturing, 5S or continuous improvement experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Fabrication and Sheet Metal employees with daily direction and expectations.
• Maintain a visible shop-floor presence and enforce safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Plan and assign daily work based on production schedules and workload.
• Review drawings, materials, and production priorities to ensure readiness.
• Monitor progress and address issues impacting production.
• Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, tolerances and customer requirements.
• Promote first-time-right quality and reduce defects and waste.
• Coach, train, and evaluate employees with timely feedback.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding and other personnel decisions.
• Develop technical and leadership depth within the departments.
• Lead daily production huddles and communicate priorities and risks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing and others to maintain flow.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, workflow, productivity and cost.
