Job summary

Motion Recruitment supports a global leader in the IoT space seeking a Senior IT Manager to oversee daily IT operations for a growing technology organization. The role is 80% hands-on technical work and 20% leadership, vendor management, and strategic planning, with four days onsite.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and experience across Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, and IT security.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT operations, infrastructure, or technical support experience.
• Experience leading 2–3 person IT teams.
• Strong hands-on technical background with ability to resolve issues personally.
• Experience with Windows environments, Microsoft 365, AD, and cloud apps.
• Solid networking knowledge: VPNs, firewalls, endpoint management, and security basics.
• Experience managing IT vendors, MSPs, and offshore teams.
• Experience supporting distributed/global locations.
• Ability to balance daily support with security and infrastructure duties.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment balancing leadership with hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily IT operations including end-user support, infrastructure, systems administration, and troubleshooting.
• Act as hands-on escalation point for complex hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Mentor a small IT team of 2–3 employees while remaining involved in technical support.
• Maintain and support corporate IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud apps, and devices.
• Oversee IT security including endpoint protection, access management, and updates.
• Manage user accounts, onboarding/offboarding, and device needs.
• Coordinate with vendors, MSPs, and offshore IT resources for timely resolutions.
• Support IT projects, upgrades, deployments, and improvements.
• Maintain IT policies, docs, asset management, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve IT efficiency, security, and user experience.
• Provide IT support across global offices.
