Job summary

MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, is seeking a Lead Security Engineer in Oakland, CA. You will lead security across infra, IAM, and AI tools, and own incident response, policy shaping, and compliance evidence for global operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on security work, cross‑department collaboration, and driving security improvements while managing AI tool configurations and guardrails. Strong experience in cloud security and audits is required.

Qualifications

• Senior-level security expertise across IAM, infra and cloud security, governance, and AI/LLM security.
• Hands-on incident investigation experience and escalation duties for threats.
• Cloud security experience with RBAC design and access controls.
• Experience supporting SOC 2, NIST/800-53, and related audits with evidence gathering.
• Ability to develop repeatable security processes and automation.
• Strong cross-team collaboration across a large multi-site org.

Responsibilities

• Make security decisions and decide which projects matter most across MISUMI Americas' global operations.
• Secure infrastructure across physical networking and cloud, manage IAM and permissions.
• Run user access audits and manage access controls for systems and applications.
• Oversee AI security, configure enterprise AI tools, and evaluate safety guardrails.
• Support audits for J-SOX, NIST, CMMC 2.0, and SOC 2 with evidence and remediation.
• Automate security tasks and enhance runbooks, playbooks, and documentation.
