Job summary

Simile, based in San Francisco, is seeking a Security Engineer to own the security roadmap for our AI-driven platform. You will secure novel products, ensure resilience, and keep privacy front and center across multi-cloud environments.

You will lead threat modeling, automate defenses, manage vulnerabilities, and defend AI/ML pipelines, while championing GitOps security with Terraform/Pulumi across regional deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application or infrastructure security in a high-growth environment.
• Deep expertise securing AWS environments; experience with GCP or Azure is a major plus.
• Offensive mindset to anticipate risks and help engineers remediate them.
• Operational mindset with observability and a "you build it, you run it" security approach.
• Agentic AI tooling to provide real-time security feedback during code development.

Responsibilities

• Customer Security & Trust: work with enterprise customers to navigate procurement and security discussions, providing posture overviews and data handling alignment.
• Lead Secure Design: conduct threat modeling and secure design reviews for new features from design to implementation.
• Automate Defenses: develop tooling and paved paths to ship code safely without sacrificing velocity.
• Own Vulnerability Management: oversee bug bounty and internal vulnerability scanning, prioritizing fixes by risk.
• Secure AI/ML Pipelines: defend AI/ML workloads, protect high-throughput inference systems and GPU environments.
• Champion GitOps Security: manage security configurations via Terraform/Pulumi across multi-region environments.
