Job summary

Atlas Fibre, LLC is seeking a Robotics Controls Integration Engineer to lead programming and commissioning of ABB robots and Beckhoff PLCs on the factory floor in Illinois. You will integrate robots, sensors, and PLCs into robust automation cells, troubleshoot EtherCAT networks, and own projects from development to production commissioning.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with ABB RAPID, TwinCAT 3, and structured text PLCs, with a strong focus on end-to-end delivery and on-floor

Qualifications

• ABB robot programming and commissioning.
• Strong ABB RAPID skills.
• Beckhoff controls with TwinCAT 3.
• PLC programming with emphasis on Structured Text.
• EtherCAT configuration and troubleshooting.
• Integration of robots, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial devices.
• On-floor commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Electrical schematic reading and industrial controls troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of sequencing, interlocks, faults, and recovery.
• End-to-end delivery from development to production commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Program, test, and commission ABB industrial robots using RAPID.
• Develop and debug Beckhoff PLC applications in TwinCAT 3 (Structured Text).
• Integrate robots, PLCs, sensors, actuators into automation cells.
• Configure, diagnose, and resolve EtherCAT network issues.
• Own full project execution from development through production commissioning.
• Author reliable automation sequences with interlocks, fault handling, and recovery logic.
• Read electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair industrial controls.
