Job summary
Atlas Copco is seeking a Controls Engineer – Automation Specialist to design, program, and commission automated solutions with the North America Application Center. You’ll collaborate across engineering and production to deliver projects on time and within budget, including field installation and commissioning at customer sites.
The role requires PLC/HMI programming, robot integration in light assembly cells, and up to 30% travel within the US.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechatronics or equivalent on‑the‑job experience.
- 5+ years of experience in automation engineering or controls.
- Experience programming PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience in robot integration into assembly cells.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission automated solutions.
- Install and debug systems in workshop; support field installation.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, and Production.
- Monitor budgets and deadlines; ensure on-time delivery.
- Travel up to ~30% within the US for installations.
